An independent practice that provides the best care for your small animals🐶😺🐰🐹

⭐️It’s Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week⭐️ ❤️First of all, what a team we have to celebrate! Between our four receptionist they have a combination of 19 years commitment to our practice. 📞These four lovely humans are often the first friendly voice on the phone and the first warm welcome through the door, offering reassurance and support to both pets and their owners. They manage busy schedules, handle emergencies with calm professionalism and keep the entire practice organised, often all at once. 🙏🏻Their compassion, patience, and dedication make a real difference every single day. We are so grateful for everything they do, because without them, our practice simply wouldn’t run the way it does.➡️We have Sophie on the right who is winning the award for the longest standing receptionist here, she joined us in February 2015. ⬆️Next we have Olivia at the front, who is our lead receptionist and joined us in August 2023. ⬇️Joanne, stood behind, joined us in August 2023.⬅️Last but by all means not least, we have Alex on the left. Alex joined us in July 2024.❤️Please show all your love and appreciation, it will not go a miss. ... See MoreSee Less

📣Changes to Pet Travel📣🇪🇺European Pet Passport Update🇪🇺📆Prior to the 22nd of April 2026, some dogs were able to travel from the UK to Europe using a European issued pet passport.✈️Generally, this is where people have a second home and can register with a local European vet to have a passport issued, have rabies vaccinations etc. ❌If your primary residence is in the UK, as of the 22nd of April 2026, all cats, dogs and ferrets, leaving the UK (unless for commercial movements) must have a valid export health certificate. Existing European passports will not be a valid document. 🌍If you are travelling to Europe you are advised to check the entry requirements with the relevant authority in the destination country, and also the DEFRA website. ... We would love to thank everyone for taking part on posting their amazing animals, we really wish we could post them all as they are so beautiful❤️ The winners of the cover photo challenge are: Ralph🐶 Bear🐶 Ziggy, Zyra, Zandha🐶Happy National Pet Month! 🐾Today (and all month long) is the perfect excuse to celebrate the animals who make our lives brighter, calmer, and a whole lot more fun. Whether they bark, purr, chirp, hop, or slither, our pets aren’t just animals- they’re family. They greet us like we’ve been gone for years (even if it’s been five minutes), comfort us without needing words, and somehow always know when we need a little extra love. From muddy paw prints to early morning wake-up calls, every moment with them is a reminder of how much joy they bring into our lives. This month, take some extra time to spoil your pet—an extra treat, a longer walk, a new toy, or just some quality cuddle time. And if you’re able, it’s also a great time to support local shelters, raise awareness about adoption, or help animals in need. Here’s to the companions who make every day better just by being in it. ❤️🐶🐱 ... ❤️We had these two gorgeous puppies in last week, to repair their umbilical hernias. 🐾Theoni gave them all the love before their procedure, which they appreciated so much. Both of them recovered beautifully from their surgery. 💭An umbilical hernia is a small lump you may notice on your dogs tummy, around the belly button area. It happens when the muscles in that area don’t fully close after birth, leaving a small gap.💊This gap can allow a bit of fat, or occasionally part of the intestine, to push through, causing a soft swelling. In many cases, it isn’t painful and may even go away on its own as your puppy grows.👨🏼‍⚕️However, some hernias don’t close naturally and may need a simple surgical repair, often done at the same time as neutering, if the timings align. Rarely, the hernia can become firm, painful, or swollen; this would need urgent veterinary attention.🩺Overall, this is a common condition in puppies, and the prognosis is usually excellent. ...
